受賞対象となった研究の内容
この研究では、分子の振動状態と微小領域に閉じ込められた光の状態が混ざり合ってできる、振動ポラリトンという新しい状態を対象にしています。振動ポラリトン状態では、物質固有の物理・化学的な特性が変化する可能性があると考えられ、化学反応やイオン伝導度などさまざまな特性の変化が報告されていますが、その根本的な原因については現在までよくわかっておりません。今回、大きなラビ分裂を示すチオシアン酸アンモニウムを用いることで、分子振動とキャビティモードのエネルギーが共鳴している時よりもずれている（デチューニング）時に、キャビティ中の分子の緩和が速くなる、という現象を見出しました。この結果は通常想定される振る舞いとは異なる結果でしたが、分子がポラリトンを介して光としてエネルギーを失う過程が、共鳴しているよりもデチューニング時に活性化されることを示しており、ポラリトンのダイナミクス理解において重要なステップとなる成果です。

I am deeply grateful to receive the Outstanding Student Poster Award from the ACS Division of Physical Chemistry. It was already a privilege to present my research at the ACS Spring 2026 Meeting and to connect in person with the community working in our field. This achievement would not have been possible without the guidance and support of Professor Hiroyuki Katsuki, Assistant Professor Garrek Stemo, my co-authors, and my colleagues at the Quantum Photo-Science Laboratory. Attending this conference, combined with this award, has motivated me to dig deeper and keep exploring the ultrafast dynamics of systems under vibrational strong coupling.
