Photonic Device Science Laboratory

Professor Otha retired as a professor of the Graduate school of Science and Technology on March 31.
Prof. Ohta will continue his responsibilities as Executive Director & Vice President and Professor of the Institute of Research Initiatives at the NAIST.
We are pleased to announce that the final lecture of Prof. Ohta will be held on March 7, 2025. We will announce the details later.

2024/03/31: Prof. Jun Ohta and Prof. Hironari Takehara retired the Graduate School of Science and Technology on March 31. Prof. Ohta will continue his responsibilities as Executive Director & Vice President, and Professor of the Institute of Research Initiatives at the NAIST. 2024/01/05: Prof. Jun Ohta and Dr. Yasumi Ohta, in collaboration with Prof. Ryo Sasaki and Prof. Tadashi Isa at the Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, and Prof. Kenta Kobayashi at the National Institutes of Natural Sciences, Japan, identify and selectively manipulate the neural circuits underlying the balance of risk vs. reward decision-making using optogenetics in primates.
