...An international student has been assigned to this program

A student from Taiwan has been assigned to our laboratory.

My name is Po-wei YI, from Taiwan and I am a PhD student with double degree in Applied chemistry, National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan. My current research is engaged with “The assembling of protein mechanism through optical trapping”. Do the weight training to strengthen my muscle in gym is my hobby. Thanks for reading

Optical Trapping and Assembling of Protein at Solution Surface

We used the Rhodamine B-labeled lysozyme for observing the fluorescence image. The fluorescence intensity increases from the focus to the outside during the irradiation of trapping laser. The lysozyme concentration becomes locally higher with time, and their assembly expands to a few tens µm. After turning off the trapping laser, the highly concentrated lysozyme domain decreases to the initial value.

Fig. 1 Fluorescence images of the mixed D2O solution of lysozyme and Rhodamine B-labeled lysozyme upon laser trapping. The focus of 1064 nm laser is located at the center of the image.
